What do you wear on the weekends? Probably depends on what you're doing, right? If I'm just hanging around the house, doing chores, maybe a quick run to the grocery store, I'm probably in sweats. Honestly, I spend a lot of time at home in sweats or something similar. Bet you do too.
How about when you have other stuff to do though? Meeting friends for lunch, shopping, maybe going to a museum, art festival or something that requires a little more style than yoga pants. Or spending the weekend with the new boyfriends' parents for the first time? What to wear, what to wear, the age old question!
Well, today's Vintage Outfit of the Day will hopefully inspire you to add some vintage style to whatever look you choose!
A range of vintage items all pulled together for a metro modern casual look, Put together but not trying too hard.
The light blue pin-stripe vintage blouse is a find from the 1970's. It has little puffed sleeves you can't see under the jacket and buttons down the front. Very sweet!
A vintage 80's Ivory Rayon Boyfriend Blazer, a super versatile piece, by the way, adds polish. I left the sleeves down in these photos, but honestly, I'd probably roll them up for a more casual look and throw on an armful of silver bangles and some drop silver earrings.
Navy blue high waist vintage shorts, a linen blend 80's find, pair perfectly with the vintage blouse and the boyfriend blazer.
Vintage Doc Marten's, from the early 80's are worn with striped knee-socks. Fun and funky paired with preppy equals unique style that sets you apart from the crowd.
A vintage silver chain belt with little heart charms is used as a necklace, letting the longer end with the hearts trail down the front.
The 70's silver coil belt is actually worn as a belt, and works perfectly with the rest of the outfit.
Of course, all these pieces can be mixed and matched with a variety of others, vintage or not!
So maybe, next weekend, instead of sweats or yoga pants, it's time to dress it up a step!
All vintage clothing items in this outfit will be available soon from my Etsy Store (except the socks)! Feel free to contact me if you want to know about a featured item that isn't listed yet. I do vintage and antique detecting too, so, if you're searching for something in particular, I can help!
